Amazon started Climate Pledge Friendly, a new program that will make it easier for customers to discover and shop for more sustainable products. The program offers brands to feature the Climate Pledge Friendly label on their listings to notify consumers that the products in their search have proven environmentally-related sustainability benefits.
Climate Pledge Friendly Certifications
Amazon partnered with 18 trusted third-party certifications aiming to preserve the natural world and protect the planet for future generations. Amazon also launched its own certification, Compact by Design. It distinguishes products that have a more efficient design requiring less packaging due to the removal of air and water and having more efficient shape for delivering.

Products with Climate Pledge Friendly label
The Climate Pledge Friendly label is featured on more than 25,000 products to indicate that the products have one or more of 19 different sustainability certifications that help to save the natural world, such as reducing the carbon footprint of shipments to customers or using materials made from recycled content. The label and the information about the certifications that make the product Climate Pledge Friendly can be seen on the product’s page.
The Climate Pledge Friendly products may be found in such categories as apparel, beauty, health & household, computer & office, electronics and grocery from a wide range of brands.
The Climate Pledge, Amazon’s commitment to reach the Paris Agreement 10 years early
The Climate Pledge Friendly program supports The Climate Pledge, Amazon’s commitment to reach the Paris Agreement 10 years early and be net zero carbon by 2040. The company has already committed to reaching 100% renewable energy by 2030, ordered 100,000 emissions-free electric delivery vehicles and plans to invest $100 million protect forests around the world.
Amazon also launched the $2 billion Climate Pledge Fund to support forward-looking companies whose products and services will promote the transition to a low carbon economy.

What do you need to participate in Amazon’s Climate Pledge Friendly Program?
To qualify for Climate Pledge Friendly, a product must be certified by at least one of Amazon’s third-party certifications or be certified by Amazon’s Compact by Design initiative.
- Climate Pledge Friendly is open to all selling partners.
- No fee to participate in Climate Pledge Friendly is required.
- To feature the label on your product that suit the Climate Pledge Friendly requirements you need to log into your Seller Central or Vendor Central account to access the Contact Us page.
- If you want your product to be certified Compact by Design, it must qualify a unit efficiency, be registered in the Amazon Brand Registry program and be in one of suggested categories.
